SMRT Space taxi
after dinner with Peck Wai and Adrian, we hailed a SMRT Hyundai Starex Space taxi. it's a 6-seater MPV that can take wheel chair as well. We were told by friendly driver that this is the one and only in S'pore at the moment, but eventually will have 50 such taxis. he took 10 weeks CPR and first aid courses. by end of yr, will have oxygen tanks on board. the taxi comes with an autoloader for wheelchair, better than London cabs. meant to support medical tourism with many such cabs stationed at airport. but he told us that he take corporate bookings and ferry special school kids. He told us that SMRT had donated services hospitals and welfare org to provide transport for the less well-off disabled and patients.
